I've been considering what it cost to have my original tank relined and
thought this might be a good time to move my tank from inside the cab to
the panel-sub location. I have a couple of these tanks also but at a
$200-300 price to reline a tank I'm looking at stainless tanks for
sale. I've seen them for $380 at Rob's Serious Hardware, wondered if
anyone knows of any other sources for them.
I don't really mind the tank in the cab from a safety standpoint
except that if I was in a collision such as a T-bone I think I would
prefer it in the panel location. I had looked at the panel location
before and was scared off by the proximity to the spinning open drive
shaft. It seems like a pinch point for a wayward rock, not to mention a
broken U joint. However I noticed this weekend on the show "Trucks"
they put the tanks right next to the drive shaft on new models.
Along these lines does anyone have a '47 or '48 truck they could
measure the location of the filler on beside of so I could put mine in
the right location?

Thanks, Grant 50 3100
