Fellow listers,

For the current owner of this Morgan I'm trying to track down its history. I
have filled about half the years of this 1958 car, but there remain some
gaps. I wonder if any of the people does have any memories, pictures and/ or
documents about it.

The car started life as a Red 4/4 Series II, which was delivered in June
1958 to a garage in Devon. It was registered YDV 386, but how many owners it
had and where they lived is still not known. In 1968 it was acquired by a
man who was to keep it until 1987. He restored it twice and re-registered it
11 MOG. This reg.no. was later transferred to his Plus 8. When he sold it,
the Morgan had been repainted white, while it had been brown in the 1970s.

When he sold it, the car was registered TOY 479 and remained in Tunbridge
Wells. It is likely that this Morgan spent all of its life in the southern
part of England, until it was sold to Switzerland and then to Holland in the
late 1990s.

This Morgan has been modified early in its life. The Ford 100E engine was
fitted with an Elva cylinder head, with twin downdraught Solex carburettors.
Hence it bore an enormous scoop in the form of a half moon on top of its
bonnet. Later the engine was swapped for a Ford 1500 engine with "Deronico"
valve cover, while the original 3-speed gearbox has been replaced one from a
Ford Corsair 2000E.

I would like to come into contact with anyone who could tell something about
the pre 1968 and/or the post 1987 history of this car and perhaps provide
some pictures, documents or whatever. Addresses and phone number of former
owners would be particularly welcome.

Thanks in advance.
