Probably wont charge, and might fry the GPS.
You could make an adapter, with new plug and new socket, wired so new socket
has negative ground.

Dumb question... Will GPS charge on a positive ground cigarette lighter? I'm
three weeks away from driving my MG 1100 for the first time and its "positive
earth".
