Paul,
I agree with Max. I didn't realize that you were installing the engine with
the transmission already in place. I tried to install my engine this way
thinking I would save time. I spent the better part of a day trying to get
the trans to mate with the engine. In frustration I finally pulled the
trans, mated it to the engine, and installed it all as one piece. Later on
I had the problem with the crank pulley, but that's another story...
