Let's see if this works...

I haven't been on the list for a couple of years now. I think the spam
filter at work here is filtering most of the lists incoming messages.
Grrrr...
I think maroon is the best color. But it seems the Moss paint, which
looks so gorgeous when you first paint something doesn't age well. It
fades to an almost brown looking color and heaven forbid if you get
coolant on it. I haven't found a color that's close to it. Right now
I'm refreshing my engine and painted it red. I used OSH's Rustolium
industrial enamel "regal red". It's a darker red but no where close to
maroon. Out here in Calif paint is becoming heavily regulated. Brands
like Aeroview and Krylon are disappearing. Now it seems all the auto
parts stores around only sell Duplicolor. And the selection is limited.
And in the near future they will only be selling water based paints.
I'm not much of a purest so I'd even paint an engine Ford Blue if I
thought it looked good.

I think "oil-covered" would be the most authentic finish...

If you're near Mountain View, CA,
it's the primer red one with chrome wires
