Galvanized is hard to get paint to adhere to, it has an oily substance on the
surface that must be cleaned off and some etching of the surface would be
preferable. On some other galavanized items we have washed them with vinegar
to cut the oilyness and slightly etch the finish on the metal.

I dont know the answer to your question, but I do know that galvanized metal
is very difficult to paint,
