My car used to do that when the clutch disk got oily. There was a way to 
spray cleaner (carb or brake) on the disk by removing one bolt but I 
forget the details. Anyway, it would work fine for a long while after 
cleaning until the oil covered it again. I have since replaced the 
clutch and haven't had any problems. I guess at some point I'll have to 
spray it again, wish I could remember the details of the fix.
