Dual point distributors add nothing to a stock MGB, at least, it just
doesn't rev high enough to warrant it. Consider that the V8 has half the
dwell or points closed time of the four-cylinder, and a Jag V12 for example
one-third the dwell, with similar peak rpms, and you will see what I mean.
Dual points means more than twice the setting-up time, and you can't use a
dwell meter to check the individual gaps like you can on a single-point i.e.
without even removing the cap.
