I had always read in UK-based publications that when MG stopped selling in
the US after the B died the company just walked away from its dealer network,
leaving hundreds of legal loose ends lying about. This would create a problem
that would need solving before establishing another dealer network, or so the
logic goes. That, and the cost/trouble of meeting US tech rules.
