diff plug thread size?

Hello nice people,

what is the thread size of the drain/fill tapped holes on our diffs?
Both banjo and tube diffs use the same plugs.
Is it 1/2" BSPT or 1/2" NPT, (both of these at 14 tpi) cause it sure looks 
like it's a tapered thread, but, then again, I may be wrong.
Problem is brand new plugs (6K499) have a straight thread and will only go 
in a little bit - leaks.
