First make sure that the center muffler is really a muffler. Some DPOs
relocated the convertor from under the hood to the middle muffler location.
Also make sure that the car is not running too rich, and the timing is right.
I have seen convertors actually glow read hot when the mixture was too rich or
unburnt gas gets into the convertor for another reason.. There h as been an
ongoing problem of occassional engine fires in RBBs when the original
convertor overheats.
