A panhard rod is designed to reduce/eliminate lateral movement over the
axle. The really nice thing about them is it gives you much more control
over the rear-end alignment, and allows you to fix the axle dead-center of
the car. Many of our MGs are actually going down the road cock-eyed, albeit
ever so slightly. Makes a big difference when trying to fit larger tires
for racing/autocross, etc.

Subject: Suspension question --"some" MG content
Hi,
Ok...now what's a panhard bar or suspension link?...I just happen to have
one
that runs in the same direction as the rear axle in my 1957 3.4 litre Saloon
(nee: Mk.1)
I remember an early French car called a Panhard. On the MGB all I can see is
a Rebound strap...wouldn't a trailing arm system help keep the torque more
effective by reducing the "twist"?
