1) Grease on the stud? I never have!
2) Spinning stud. Options.
a) Don't use grease.
b) Check the thread size on the stud. Find a bolt of
the same size. Screw the stud nut onto the bolt to
precut the nylock.
c) Clamp tie rod stud in a vise using leather or wood to
protect it.
Screw nylock nut on. Disassemble and replace on car.
d) Place tie rod end in steering arm Wedge block of wood
between steering arm and garage floor. Place block of
wood over ball joint and drive stud into
steering arm.
