Hi Max,
After I wrote to both you and Larry, I saw that you'd posted about
becoming aware of the smaller angle drive at the speedo end. Trouble
was, I'd already sent the msg; didn't mean to patronize you.
I suppose the smaller size of the drive at the speedo end might
account for their failing sooner than the one at the tranny. So the
dilemma is whether to acquire a drive or try rerouting the cable. If I
get an angle drive and it lock up, I'm DOA again. I'm going to see if
there's a hole in the firewall behind my speedo. If I could route the
cable straight out to eliminate the tight bend it would suit me fine. I
have lots of slack in the cable. Could drill a new hole, too.
Sacrilege!! (G) If that fails, another lister has offered to sell me a
speedo-end AD.
