The round thing with the hose on the '65 is indeed an O/D vacuum 
switch.  Delays O/D switching under certain throttle / vaccum 
conditions.  The other one is an O/D electrical relay.  Moss Motors 
lists both as std for MGBs 1967 and earlier, page 144, items 55 and 
56.  I vaguely remember them from the '67 BGT I once owned.

Some parts may be missing in a car that did not originally come with 
overdrive, or one in which a part crapped out and was bypassed.
