From a recent clipping on interesting courtroom exchanges:
Lawyer: Was the patient dead when you began the autopsy?
Witness: Yes, he was.
Lawyer: Can you be sure about that?
Witness: Yes, I can.
Lawyer: How can you be sure the patient was not alive at that time?
Witness: Because his brain was in a jar on the counter in the lab.
Lawyer: So, is it your testimony that there there no possible way this
patient might have been alive?
Witness: Well, I suppose that there is the slight possibility that he
could actually be alive and
practicing as a trial lawyer somewhere.
