If my old codger memory serves me correctly, I seem to recall that the MG
Car Company held a controlling interest in the company building SU
carburetors and fuel pumps. Considering that, I'm almost surprised that
they didn't use dual SU fuel pumps to go with the dual SU carbs. Just a
thought.
