Hi Cy, My '69 B recently developed a gasoline odor when running. I noticed a fuel residue buildup on the top of the rear carb's floatbowl. Replaced the float needle & seat (float valve) and the odor went away. Apparently it was a very slow leak. I suppose it was losing fuel down the overflow tube. I had to richen the rear carb a bit to make up for the lower fuel level in the rear bowl. I have a smoother idle now too, so the rear carb must have been flooding a bit. CR |
