The early cars had the hole up near the top of the flat wall behind the
pedals. If there isn't a plugged hole here, go ahead and drill one. A few
suggestions:
Use a rubber grommet to prevent chafing, and blowthrough.
The choke cable comes up from below, in between the carbs. Plot the cable
route to minimize twists and turns.
Perhaps an "L" bracket below the dash in close to the original location
(righthand side of steering wheel) would be better than on the left. I am
not sure how you would route the cable from the lefthand side to get to
the desired location. But perhaps you have a solution in mind...
