MGA Brakes

A question to all the MGA listers knowledgeable in brakes: What would it
take, or is it even possible to convert an MGA 1500 front drum brake
system to the caliper style found on the 1600 front brakes. Ever hear of
anyone doing this?  I am looking at brake work and will probably need
new drums, and just wondered if it was possible or even practical to
consider this. TIA.
