I was looking for alternatives to the aftermarket steel springs, and called
up Doug Jackson @ British Automotive about his fiberglass composite
replacements. Seems to be a technologiacally complex project, as weight
and ride height vary between different cars, and proper curvature of the
spring requires shimming, longer U-bolts, weighing the car, etc. See his
tech www page:
http://www.mgbmga.com/parts/index.html
Also expensive, with all the bells, whistles, shocks, etc. Doug seemed to
imply that some of the parts necessary for Chrome Bumper cars at "normal
ride height" were not yet available, and said that the www page was in the
process of being updated.
I may just try seven-leaf steel springs and hope that the ride height isn't
too wierd...
