Today I informed at an MG garage on how to replace the main speedo gear.
For this you would have to remove the engine, tranny and OD.

But a trick which some of us can do ourselves, is to weld a piece of
metel to the last bearing in the OD and pull it out. Normally it is
tightened very strongly. This is the only way to get it out.

It will cost you the Gear (25 BP), the bearing (20 BP) and the seal (5
BP). And ofcourse the labour.

I will have this done at the shop in a few weeks.
