Hi Joe:
My source is "Chevy Super Sports" by Terry V. Boyce, Motorbooks
International, 1981. He says, "Chevrolet confirmed that it would be
building ... a car code- named the Panther as early as April of that (1966)
year. The Panther became the Camaro at the last minute....
I give up, if that's not it - what's the answer?
