This is going to be my last post to the list on the subject, since I
got the answer to my original question, but I can't pass this up.
Do the two replies from Ed sound like they were posted by two
different people, or what?

(As long as there's not an IDIOT (his term) wanting his tire changed
at $30 an hour--Oh, I forgot, the IDIOTS get first priority in Ed's
shop, after all.)

(I guess their money doesn't spend as well, or something like that).

I'm familiar with this doctrine, as well, and have no problems with
this. It's just that for $375, I'm almost paying for two brand-new,
in-the-box, warranteed HIF4s. Especially considering that there are
people like Jim Taylor (who are actually RECOMMENDED on this list),
who rebuilt Dan Rollins' Carbs, polished them, balanced them, and
bench-tested them. This cost Dan a whopping $130 or so, and he had
them back in a week!
>Yes, I want to make money - you know eat, pay the mortgage, etc. -

(Unless the customer happens to own a "status-symbol" car, or wants
work done quickly, or just happens to get pushed back in favor of
more profitable jobs.)

(what difference would this have made? Are you saying you're only
flippant and insulting about body shop problems, or what?)

hands?)

(Most intelligent thing he's said on the topic yet...)
