Trivia time folks - I noticed the thread about the rubber drain tube which pokes out from the bottom of the scuttle air vent and drains alongside the gearbox. Blockage of this - with silt, leaves etc. - is a common reason for leaks into the interior. The shape of the tube is quite - ahem - distinctive - which led to it being known at the factory as `Tom's Knob'. How fortunate Tom was with the ladies has not been recorded.... |
