Scott,
Sorry to hear that you still have this problem. My car came back from
the shop last week for the same problem. They told me that there was
nothing wrong with the Carbs at all even though I start without the
choke. I ran the car back home and it worked fine. When it starts it
idles at about 500 - 600 revs. The generator light comes on. After it
warms up, the revs goes upto 1000 or so and the car is pretty happy. I
asked about the light and they said not to warry since the battery gets
a charge when you drive (???).
I did have a bad distributor cap also with some bad wire and/or pin
sticking. Timing was also set and the plugs cleaned. Thats it.
Do I understand what happened ? No, I don't but someone on the list
might !
Thanks
Sam
