Sorry to bomb the list with my question again but just after I posted it
last time I got dropped from the list so I wasn't able to see any
responses. I wondered if I had to worry about the pressure of the fuel
pump if I have a Weber conversion?

thanks again for any help.

Denny

Several people have been asking about my cute little GM fuel pump, so
here's the scoop.

NAPA part number P74029.
3.8-5.7 psi.
16.8 GPH at 2.3 psi.

It looks like a steel shell fuel filter.
2" diameter, 2-1/2" long plus the fittings at each end.
Two wires so it can be used with positive or negative ground.
Mounts with one bolt and a big P-clip supplied.
Ports are threaded 1/8 FPT.
(2) 5/16" hose barbs.
(2) Hose 5/16", 4" long.
(4) hose clamps.
(2) crimp-on wire connectors.

It is solid state. Internally it has just one moving part and two metal
disk check valves. It ticks over quite rapidly, runs continuously, is
easy to hear when it's pumping, and gets VERY QUIET when the pressure is
up. I have one in service now for 8 years and 75,000 miles, no problems,
I expect it to last forever. I just picked up a new one for a spare, but
I expect someone else will need it before I will.

Eight years ago they were about $30, but this one just set me back $56.93
(ouch). The box says "Supplied ...... by Carter Fuel Systems", and the
number on the pump is E8016S. I'm sure they're available through other
distributors as well, so if anyone finds a cheaper source, let us know.
