Berrie, I have one of those missing myself... for about ten years now. I drive the care every day. It's been about five years since I repacked those front bearings. I'll miss that spacer again when I repack them this time too. As far a that screw is concerned, I'd retap and replace it. I believe the counter sunk head of the screw helps center the drum.
