Rob, I've got also got an '80' and had a 'worn bearings' problem with both my fan motors. I suspect that your bearings are going/gone causing the armatures to turn with difficulty, causing the high current draw. I disassembled my motors, cleaned them up, repacked the bearings with a mixture of graphite powder and axle grease. About an hour job. Haven't had a problem in over 2 years. Or you can buy new motors at $80 each. Steve |
