re:WD40 on water pumps

I use a product called Liquid Wrench, a penetrant (sp?).
If that don't work then I get out the oil, WD40, more liquid wrench, apply 
heat, anything that works via an escalation of applied force.  Not as 
barbaric as I make it sound, but I usually have a can of Liquid Wrench 
someplace nearby when working on cars.
