Will is correct on his response except that the the "newer" OD units (early seventies) do not operate off the vacuum - they are electrical only. The $450 sounds reasonable and that was about what mine cost when I got it from a salvage yard ten years ago. I replaced my transmission because the original one would have been too expensive to repair - if the laygear itself is worn, it is a very costly part to replace. David Councill dcouncil@imt.net |
