I have a 79 and haven't driven an earlier one but I went with the later one 
because I had a hard time finding an old one that was either in good condition 
or the owner wanted a fortune for it at least in SO CAL. I didnt have the 
option 
of restoring one as my B is our 2nd car.I'd like to drive an older one ...but 
then agian maybe not..I might not like MINE anymore....Pat
