On registering LHD cars in Australia, well firstly converting a LHD spridget
to RHD is pretty simple. Secondly, in my state (Victoria), you can get
a classic car "permit" which allows driving on the road either on an approved
car club's event (any event that is, the club has to be a registered club)
or in preperation/testing for a club event (lots of freedom of interpretation
is possible there!). This is known as a CH permit because all the registration
plates are CH-XXXX.

CH plates are only available for cars 25 years and older. You can get a CH plate
for any *unmodified* LHD car.

If you want normal registration, then it needs to be converted to RHD.
