Yes, Rob there is such a thing. Actually O/D transmissions came in three
configurations. An early
Type "D" unit for use with non Sychnro Low Gear Box and a Later Type "LH" unit
fot the '68 - 74
Box and the '75 - '80 box. In truth all trasmissions are interchangable but I
recommend the unit made
for rubber bumper cars. You can tell you have a "LH" O/D by the plate covering
the solenoid.

On the rubber bumper car the swap is striaght forward. Only the transmissions
need to be changed
out. All other components are the same.

To locate one try your local MG Club newsletters, list a parts wanted post here
&/or on the MG
home Page at www.mgcars.org.uk. Visit your local friendly LBC Junk Yard. Try MG
parts
specialists who deal in used parts

I would guesstimate a O/D transmission to run $300 - $600 maybe more. In any
case unless you can
get one you absolutly know is good, Spend the extra money to have a
transmission specilist rebuild it
for you,
