If you want to go all out, you could install a Halon fire bottle
and pipe it through the firewall and into the engine bay ending
in a nozzle. Standard racing fire suppression system. ;-)
If you use a regular fire extinguisher, three things to remember -
1) Get a 5 lb. bottle, not the dinky "home use" ones, you'll be
putting out a gas fire in an oily area, not a grease fire in a pan.
2) Dry chemical is a pain to clean up, and it eats wiring. If you
can afford it, go with Halon.
3) You are more important than the car. Really.
