Six year old tires are not typically particularly grippy. Now that you
have fixed the mechanics of getting rubber to the road, consider getting
some new, decent rubber. I am a big fan of Kumho for reasonably priced
high performance tires, and a big fan of Dunlop for all-around
performance/road tires.
