All,
I was knocking out all my old freeze plugs (a 1994 3.9 block), and I couldn't help but notice that the one closest to the back of the block (bellhousing) on each side had alot of black gunky crap on it, and on the floor of the water jacket right behind it. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Is it indicative of anything bad?
Also, I'm having a hard time getting out the two freeze plugs (not the threaded oil gallery plugs) on the back of the engine. The rest of them came out easy by hitting the lip and causing it to spin (like a coin) and pulling them out. These ones on the back won't budge. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
James J.
