Dan, that doesn't look right. I think the weight ratio between aluminum (6061), and Iron (or at least mild steel) is about 2.9 to 1. That is, an item made of aluminum weighing 1 pound would weigh 2.9 pounds if made of mild steel. That would mean the 97lb aluminum block would weigh 281lbs if made of steel; or the other way around, the 127lb iron block would weigh 44lbs. Can anyone out there verify this? Larry Hoy |
