Dave, I'm sure you're right. I never used either of these engines in my
cars after seeing their performance on the engne dynos. I stayed with
small block Chevys because their HP gains far offset the weigh gains.
Also there were few hi-po speed equipment items available for those Olds
engines.
I just, 5 months ago gave away 2 Olds alum v-8 to a friend of mine for
his hot rods. One brand new long lock, in the crate, and one low mileage
complete engine out of a 8500 mile wreck. These engines set in the back
of my shop for years.
