Phillip is, indeed, Harry and Deidre' son. Reach Harry at
pyleharrydeidre@bigpond.com

Harry probably did the work anyway, or at least had a hand in it.

Cheers,
Lew Palmer

Subject: [Mg-t] Australian TC

Hi, folks,

I'm working on a 1949 TC that was purchased in Adelaide, Australia in 1995
from one Phillip Pyle and shipped back to California. Logic suggests that
Phillip is related to the renowned Harry Pyle and the car certainly shows it

has been in the hands of a knowledgeable TC owner/restorer.

Lately (indeed, for almost all the years it has been in California) the car
has been in storage and my brief is to get it running and driving well and
safely. After changing fluids and doing all the usual
"take-me-out-of-hibernation" things the engine now runs but the valves are
extremely noisy. It revs so crisply that I have to believe it has been
rebuilt and is fitted with something other than a stock camshaft.

The purpose of this post is to see if anyone can put me in touch with
Phillip Pyle, in the hope that he might remember this TC, what cam he put in

the engine and, therefore, what the valve clearances should be.

Any leads will be much appreciated!

Lawrie Alexander
