This judder when reversing is an all-too-common nuisance with TDs.
Things that are easy to check and to remedy are:
Loose rear axle shackle bolts
Tighten often
Loose or deteriorated rubbers on engine stabiliser turnbuckle
Adjust mount, replace rubbers
Deteriorated front engine mount
Just lift the engine to replace this mount
Things less easy to check and to remedy:
Worn linkage in clutch rods & levers
oval holes, worn clevis pins
Gearbox mounting bolt to chassis
loose or broken
Thing not so easy to check or to remedy
Clutch not smooth or clutch oily
And there are cars in which all these things have been done. In these
cars the judder is considered to be "character".
