There's another cure for the tach drive gearbox problem -- if the gears are
really badly worn, find a good clock repair shop and ask them to make you
new gears. (We've done the same thing with wiper motor gears).
A working tach will definitely make Dad happy--don't all T-type owners drive
by the tach instead of the (bouncing) speedo?
