Rick,
The bolts that hold the the backplate on a TD rear axle are 3/8" x 13/8"
long, a size that's probably hard to find at even a quality fastener shop.
I'd go for 1 1/2". The thread is ANF and again I'd recomend at least Grade
5, Grade 8 woulld be better. The last axle I had apart had spring washers
and shakeproof nuts on those bolts.
