Hi,
Going over my TD today, and noticed that all the bolts on the timing chain
cover were leaking oil.
Putting a wrench on one indicated that it was a bit loose, (but it was tight
when it was put on last October. I'm thinking the warm weather here and the
resulting high engine temps caused it to back out a bit).
However, before I go and crank them all down, (and maybe break one) I'd like
to know:
1. How common is this? Up until this weekend it wasn't a problem, and I've
put 700 miles on it since the engine was re-built last September, albeit
it's much warmer this week...
2. Anything I should look out for in tightening them down? Like I said, I
don't want to break a bolt...
3. Anything tricks to make it less then likely it will happen again?
Thanks in advance,
Scott Allen
