The questions, in order of priority, pertain to the MG TF:
1. Were the original equipment side curtain windows and the rear window
made of rigid or flexible plastic?
2. Was any original hood issued in black?
My belief is that original side curtains were windowed with a heavy but
flexible vinyl plastic, which over time, often stretched and bowed in
places so that it was not perfectly flat. Blower (p. 531) indicates
construction was of Vibrac plastic, but I have no idea what that stuff was.
As to the color issue, I can trace my car back to the late 50's when it was
owned by my uncle. It was equipped with a black hood and side curtains,
the construction of which seems to match Blower's descriptions on pages 531
and 578, however the color is black. This car was imported to the U.S.
from Koln, Germany, as it has an original dealership badge from Woodhouse
Motor Co. Could this alternative have been a dealer option? Or is it more
likely that my uncle had another top made? Or was it a factory option?
Hoping this question has not been so beat to death that no wants to even
think about it any more.

PS. Thanks for the recent thread on brake fluid, especially the trumping
of the killer Lockheed quote. I will be using the silicone stuff when I
get to that point (hopefully soon, but all is relative).
