The SirCam Worm (W32.Sircam.Worm@mm) deletes files from a PC's C: drive on
October 16th *ONLY* if Windows on that PC is set to display dates in
day/month/year format. This excludes most PCs in the US, where
month/day/year date formatting is normally used.

For more information on the SirCam Worm see:

The SirCam Worm is the fastest-spreading virus on the Internet at this
time, with the Hybris Worm and the BadTrans Worm close behind. All of
them (and almost all other worms, trojans, and viruses) are spread in the
form of e-mail messages with file attachments. Your PC can't become
infected just be receiving and reading the message, you have to open the
file attachment.

If you use Internet e-mail, you WILL receive virus-carrying messages.
It's unavoidable.

NEVER open a file attachment if you don't know the person who sent it.
Even if you do know the sender, don't open it unless you are expecting an
attachment from him/her. Unfortunately there are tons of idiots on the
Internet unable to follow that simple rule and/or unable to resist
temptation when they receive an attachment with a sexy-sounding name, so
crap like SirCam, BadTrans and Hybris is spreading like crazy.

If you don't already have an anti-virus program on your PC, get one. If
you already have one, make sure you keep its virus information database up
to date.

Visit the following Web sites frequently to stay aware of the latest virus
threats:

  http://vil.mcafee.com/
  http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/
  http://www.F-Secure.com/v-descs/

But above all, DON'T OPEN ANY UNEXPECTED FILE ATTACHMENTS!!!
