The Eastwood Company sells a handy little plating kit for about $70. This consists of an electrolyte, a tin/zinc alloy anode (donor metal), a battery holder which uses 4 D cells, a plating brush, and assorted containers in which to do the plating. I find this very effective and useful. It leaves a matte-finish zinc/tin plate which looks very "appropriate". Small parts take only a minute or two to leave a nice thickness. But the part MUST BE CLEAN before you start. Lew Palmer |
