In my P type, the wooden batten at the back of the bench seat had a rounded
profile - not half round, more like a flattish ellipse.

P-Type 2 seater side screens live in a large black envelope that is attached
to the seat back. Along the entire top of the seat back is a long wooden
batten, approx 3/4" square and covered in interior colored rexine. The top
of the envelope is attached under this. Further, the front of the half
tonneau attaches under this batten.
I'm not certain if/how the envelope thing is attached to the bottom of the
seat back, but I think it's tacked along the sides. The side screens will
fit it OK, with the fronts facing down.
