We found a "different" Lucas voltage regulator in our British car stuff:

elongated hexagon (3" x 5-5/8")
9-post
stamped on back:
RF91 L42 6V
37056A 8 46

Can anyone identify this critter? If the "8 46" is the production date, then
it's probably for a pre-war car, but we can't think of any MG that had a 6V
system.

Thanks in advance,

The RF91 12V was used on the early MGTCs. The 6V version was used on many cars of the 1940 to about 1946. I can converted it to a 12V regulator for use on the 1946-47 TCs.
