I have submitted the list of MMM cars existing in Japan, so Bob already knew
this fact
(including current owner's name). Anyway Thank you Lew, for sending photo to
Bob.

Best regards,
Hiro Nishio

Perhaps you should get the owner to contact the MGCC MMM Register. As of the
1998 issue of the Register, L0251 was not listed. I'm sure Bob Clare would
be interested to know it still exists (even with its somewhat strange body).
I'm including the photo in this reply for Bob Clare's benefit.

Regards,
Lew

By the way, Lew, did you know the very first L1 (L0251) came to Japan a half
year ago?
It wears a red racing body with 1500cc N type engine. I believe it was built
by Peter Gregory in 1998 (I saw it in the MG Meeting at Gaydon Museum in the
summer of 1998). Now it's totally different from tourer body featured in Mike
Allison's book 'Magic of MG'.
See attached.

Whoops. Not only can't I work on cars very well, but I can't type either.
The message below SHOULD have read "but L2's started with 2001" not 2002.

Not quite Bob.

There were quite a few numbers that didn't start with 0251. Chris' L2 is the
second L2 (emphasis on 2). L1's started with 0251, but L2's started with
2002, much as J3s started with J3751, J4s started with 4001, K2s started
with 2001, etc. You get the idea.

Lew Palmer

Chris,

Welcome to the MMM list, its worldwide, not just the US.

How can your L2 be numbered #2 when all MMM numbers started with 251, the
Abingdon phone number?

Cheers, "Bob".
